I've found myself lucky endless times because my high school german class was so great. Well because of that, there are a handful of us in Germany now! So I got to meet up with one of my old friends from class in Stuttgart for the day.

The first place we went was the Porsche Museum. It was pretty cool to see all the old cars, they even had a Porsche tractor! We also got to see the fasted road car in the world(pictured below)--it was literally half the height of my friend!--as well as a station were you could step on actual pedals to hear what the cars sounded like.

After that we took a U-bahn to see the Fernsehturm(a giant T.V. tower). After convincing the lady I was a student--apparently I need to get my student I.D. dated--we took the elevator up 217 meters. That's bigger than the Statue of Liberty! The view at the top was so beautiful, and luckily for us it was such a clear day out. There is a 360 degree view, with two levels to walk around. The upper level has a bronze 3D map of all the surrounding areas(I found Heidelberg!). We stayed up there for a while, but eventually we did think our hands were going to freeze off, so we had to go back and explore the gift shop...

We had about three hours left, so we went to a german restaurant near Schlossplatz, the center of the city. A very enthusiastic german man helped us find it, although we did both check for our wallets after he left us.

If you do find yourself in Stuttgart, I think the Fernsehturm is an absolute must-see! It's a great view of so much of Germany and it's not that often you can casually take an elevator 217 meters up!(That's 712 feet!) And don't forget your binoculars!
